When is the Next Disability Day on the Hill in Tennessee?
Date: TBD in 2021
Location: Meet with your Tennessee State Legislators in their offices at the Cordell Hull Building: 425 5th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37243
What is Disability Day on the Hill?
Disability Day on the Hill provides opportunities for self-advocates, families, and disability professionals to meet with state legislators at the Capitol and tell them about issues important to people with disabilities.
Why Should I Participate?
Legislators and policymakers listen to and rely on their constituents to share their knowledge and experiences. You are an expert in your own life. You are a member of your community. Who better than you to educate your Senators and Representatives about the issues that affect your life?
How Do I Share My Story?
Call and set up in-person meetings with your state legislators. You can find out who they are and how to contact them at the website of the Tennessee General Assembly.
If you would like assistance scheduling a meeting with your legislator or would like to volunteer to assist community members with their meetings, contact Gavin Dillinger at The Arc Tennessee: firstname.lastname@example.org
